The cold forming of complex curved plates has always been a global problem. At present, Zhongshuo Machinery has invented a device that is widely used in large shipyards in China. The basic concept of the equipment is “discrete shapes”: the servo motors drive the lower mold to realize different shapes. The upper mold is continuously pressed in order to keep the steel plate in a complete outer surface, which successfully prevents wrinkles during processing. Regarding the rebound problem of the sheet metal, the company invented the method of gradually achieving the bend forming, that is, calculate the rebound amount of the sheet metal through real-time online measurement, adjust the height of the indenter according to the rebound amount and make the new shape on the mold within 20 seconds execute.
The main innovations of the equipment are: 1. The adjustable active shape, which consists of square indenters, solves the wrinkle problem. 2. “Gradually approaching bending forming” to solve the rebound problem. 3. A laser measuring device recognizes formed shapes and provides data; 4. The device identifies a variety of 3D data including 3D point data, mesh data, surface data and more, and is connected to CATIA, TRIBON, and so on. It is reported that the various technologies of the equipment have filed invention patents in the European Union, the United States, Japan, South Korea and other countries.
